Dear Patriotic Global Citizens and Friends of Ethiopia:

The Chairman of the US House Committee on Foreign Affairs, Honorble Tom Lantos had to give a press release to correct the errorneous reports about HR2003.

Who circulated the errorneous reports? Now he will begin to have an idea of who he is dealing with. The same errorneous report they circulated about him is being circulated for too long as truth on Ethiopian government and the Ethiopian people.

Now, Lantos got the fire and he will be well educated in the future. Remember: out saying that you can fool some of the people some of the time. You cannot fool all the people all of the time.

Now, Lantos sees, why Patriotic Friends of Ethiopia have to give corrections for the continous fabrications tht comes from the loony Professors and extereme Diaspora erroneous reports that is fabricated day by day, minute by minute.

We are now all in the same boat, facing the disinformation and propaganda profesors full time, having tested the sources of the master misinformation camapign that got to the level of US Congress. This is as far as they can ever go! To be found out at last!

As Mr Lantos said clearly, let us give a chance to the Elders Council, the released opposition leaders and ther respective communities as well as the Ethiopian Government and the Silent majority an opportunity to work out the pardon and reconciliation process and the release of the remaining prisoners.

What a wisdom. The final verdict is "THIS BILL WILL NOT BE CONSIDERED BY THE FINAL COMMITTEE! FOR NOW!!

Human Rights and Rule of Law will triumph!

Please read on the real text as it is very well written../

With regards and thanksgiving to the Lord and the US Congress and all those who labored to protect the dignity, honor and the image of Ethiopia. May the Lord bless you all. Now is the time to give peace and reconciliation a chance.

Lantos Addresses Erroneous Reports About Legislation on Ethiopia Washington, DC – To correct erroneous reports about the Ethiopia Democracy and Accountability Accountability Act (H.R. 2003), Chairman Tom Lantos of the House Foreign Affairs Committee issued this statement today:

“The full committee did not consider the measure at today’s markup because I wanted to give Ethiopia’s elders, government officials, courts and opposition leaders an opportunity to work out a pardon arrangement for the more than 30 remaining political detainees.

Late last week I notified other members of Congress, including the House leadership, of my decision. I continue to be concerned about the detainees, and hope for their release soon.

“This bill will not be considered by the full committee for now, but this does not mean the matter of progress in political and other rights in Ethiopia is closed.

The United States relationship with Ethiopia will continue to be conditioned on Ethiopian support for human rights and the rule of law.

We will continue to hold the Ethiopian government accountable for the way it treats its citizens.”

Lantos is the founding co-chairman of the Congressional Human Rights Caucus.
