It is becoming disappointingly evident that modern day youth can be highly destructive regardless of where and in what circumstances they operate.
Any minor grievances or disappointments in life generate a highly dangerous and destructive violent behavior. The police in their callous use of the gun on one young British Youth might have initiated the disappointment, and the Government Austerity plan that took away the Youth Summer Program, might have fueled the rage, but the destruction is sheer madness that requires a serious examination of how the modern adult generation is treating the youth. The parents who in their youth gave us the Flower Generation are producing the vandal rioting violent youth.
What ever our interpretation, it is just not acceptable what is happening to our youth be it in England, Israel, North Africa and Somalia today, in what should be a civilized Knowledge Society.
These are not delinquent and disadvantaged youth, as they chose to utilize the most sophisticated Smart Phone, Canadian Blackberry, for their violent and criminal social networking efforts, which the police could not intercept nor hack.
The London Taliban and Al-shabab are not any better from their respective Afghanistan and Somai Youth in their modus operand-us that is destroy any thing to vent ones immediate and long term disappointments in life.
All show the same predicament of youth that grew on immediate gratification and no well developed sense of citizenship. It also reflects on the current generation of me and me only parents who could not direct their children to sensible and responsible citizenship.
The UK, Israel, Arab and North Africa experience is evidence that the future generation of adults cannot negotiate or skillfully design a better future for us all, but take the high road of violent and peaceful demonstrations.
Can we do better than this?
